Free Pattern: Icecream & cupcake

The weather here is starting to get a bit nicer, so today I will share with you not one, but two cute patterns!

The capcake and the icecream cone use partly the same pattern. And as you may know, I don’t like assembling my pieces, so they’re both made in 1 piece: no sewing necessary!

Materials

  • Crochet hook
  • Yarn in 2 colors
  • Filling (for example polyester filling)

Abbrevations

  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase (sc2 in one stitch)
  • dinc – double increase (sc3 in one stitch)
  • dec – decrease (go from 2 stitches to one), I recommend using invisible decrease
  • slst – slip stitch
  • BLO – work in back loops only
  • FLO – work in front loops only

Pattern

Top (used for cupcake and icecream)

1. sc6 in MR
2. (sc, inc) 3x (9)
3. (sc2, inc) 3x (12)
4. sc12 (12)
5. FLO: (dinc, slst) 6x
Finish off

Icecream cone

Attach your thread to the back loops of row 4.
5. sc12 (12)
6. dec, sc10 (11)
7. dec, sc9 (10)
8. (dec, sc3) 2x (8)
9. (dec, sc2) 2x (6)
Finish off by sewing the hole shut. You do this by going through the front loops of the stitches of the last row. Pull tight to close the hole and hide the yarn tail in the cone.

Cupcake bottom

Attach your thread to the back loops of row 4.
5. sc12 (12)
6. sc12 (12)
7. sc12 (12)
8. BLO: dec 6x (6)
Finish off by sewing the hole shut. You do this by going through the front loops of the stitches of the last row. Pull tight to close the hole and hide the yarn tail in the cupcake.

If you want you can put a little cherry on the cupcake. I did this by chaining 2 and attaching that to the top of the cupcake.

Making a keychain

I attached the icecream and the cupcake to a keychain. In this video I explain how I did that.

And now you’re all finished! I hope you enjoyed making these patterns.
