I love cacti and the trend of crochet cacti. But I love small patterns and I never really found one small enough 😛
So here are 3 different kinds of cacti! For each cactus, you made a pot and a little flower. Then for the flat cactus, you do not only make the cactus, but also the soil and little round. For the other 2 cacti, you just make the cactus.
You can use any yarn, as long as you use the right hook size. Here is how to find the right hook size for your yarn. I used cotton yarn and a 2.5mm hook and my cactus is 4cm/1,5 inch in height.
Materials
- Crochet hook
- Yarn:
- Pot: brown (I used a reddish brown)
- Cactus: green
- Flower: bit of yarn in a fun color, like yellow, pink or red
- (when making a flat cactus:) Soil: dark brown
- Filling (for example polyester filling)
- (if you want your cactus to stand up right) Something small and heavy, like a pebble, to put in the bottom of the pot
Abbrevations
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase (sc2 in one stitch)
- dec – decrease (go from 2 stitches to one), I recommend using invisible decrease
- slst – slip stitch
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- BLO – work in back loops only
- fpsc – front post single crochet
- fpdc – front post double crochet
- fpsc-inc, fpsc-dec, fpdc-inc, fpdc-dec – increase or decrease for fpsc and fpdc

Slightly fill the pot with stuffing. If you want your cactus to stand up better, put a pebble or something else in the bottom of the pot.

Assembly
In case of flat cactus: Sew the tiny round and the flower on the soil. Now sew the soil on the pot
For the round cacti: Sew the cactus on the pot directly.
